I'm a resident of Kansas City since 2015. I received the Notice of Local Public Hearing for a new power plan in Nodaway County, MO., and wondered what effect this could have on me. That was until I started reading articles and trying to get at least a layman's level of knowledge on the topic and the ramifications of the proposal. (see attached PDF)

I deeply protest the request of Evergy to build a new simple-cycle generating gas turbine plane in Nodaway County. “Over 90% of renewable energy is cheaper than fossil fuels worldwide. Solar power costs 41% less than the cheapest fossil fuel options and onshore wind costs 53% less.” -- From Renewable energy powering a safer future – United Nations and Renewable Power Generation Costs in 2024. With renewable energy generation costs significantly lower than gas costs. (See attached PDF)

Deborah called PSC hotline to file a comment into case. She opposes the project and does not believe the project is needed. Also has pollution and agriculture concerns and believes it would create a burden on the county. She would like the PSC to deny the CCN request.
