I am a city council member of Hurdland, MO. Residents received a letter stating Confluence Rivers is purchasing our sewer system from the Knox County Water district which we currently pay and maintains. It indicates a proposed rate of $35 in "addition to the company's existing service charges." Their fee structure does not tell us what these fees are, and for transparency what our total monthly expected bill is. Knox county water district who is selling the sewer system couldn't tell us what the fees are and what residents are expected to pay. This is a concern for residents as people are struggling to pay for utilities as it is. A previous rate increase was proposed a year ago and residents expressed concerns. |

The letter I received says a flat $35 fee but then refers to service charges also. I would like to know what the service charges would be and total cost of sewer payment if you would let me know it would be appreciated. |

I am very concerned about this sale both for myself (rates) for my community and also for the District. There seems to be some serious things happening with the Knox County Water & Sewer District #1. I would suggest checking the Circuit Court System in Knox County - The Missouri State Auditor and with Sunshine Complaints. I would be fearful of this transaction happening for both parties involved - Knox County Public Water & Sewer District # 1 and Confluence Rivers Utility Company. There is apparent problems with the Baring, Hurdland and Newark Lagoon and their sale. With the Department and their finances. Please halt this sale until all legal issues are resolved. OR at least until the actual fact finding is completed. Thank You |

Hello, people in our community cannot afford a large increase in their sewer bill. Further, we have never been told why the sewer service in our area is so far in the red. It is obvious from the meetings recently posted on YouTube that the Knox County Public water supply district cannot be trusted and is poorly ran. Most of our residents are older folks on fixed incomes, we want our voices heard that we want a new board and manager but not a new company. |

am emailing with concerns regarding the sale of lagoons and or the public water district in Knox County. As a resident of Baring, I can vouch for my community as not being able to afford the rate increases that are being thrown around by Mr Mallett at the monthly board meeting of the water district. He is claiming that Baring is in debt with the water board some $500,00.00 and all the other small towns in the county are paid off, however, Baring has more residents in the immediate area than the other towns. We also have farmers using public water for livestock. There is a wild amount of secrecy surrounding the board and it's manager's dealings and to be honest - we do not trust them. The board needs removed and younger people *see attached |
