Does this commission EVER say No to these utilities, especially Ameren, who is gobbling up smaller providers, and who collected nearly $1.5 billion, a portion to raze the Rush Island facility, and yet on my Ameren statement I am paying an ADDITIONAL fee to "retire" the Rush Island plant. "Coming Soon" to a mailbox near you, approved increases from Spire, MSD, Missouri American Water, and on and on. You are supposed to be the consumer watchdog but you have failed miserably. Below is a copy of a letter I sent to Missouri Senators without a response. A response from you would be greatly appreciated. *See attached |

"Who is the demonic entity that’s deciding to raise our rates??? You make more than enough money to cover the cost of the upgrades YOU approved. Missourians didn’t approve anything. Why don’t all of the top douche bags at ameren take a fucking pay cut to spare the rest of from these bi-monthly rate increases. I’ve worked at plenty of ameren properties. Nothing meaningful has been upgraded that should result in any kind of increase. Better yet, why aren’t the data center companies paying for their own bullshit. We’re so fucking sick and tired of this horse shit electric company. " |

I am writing to strongly oppose Ameren Missouri’s request to increase electric base rates by $343 million. The Missouri Public Service Commission was created to protect the public interest, not simply to approve utility rate increases. Because Ameren operates as a regulated monopoly across much of Missouri, customers have no meaningful choice in who provides their electricity. We cannot shop for a better price or take our business elsewhere. That makes the Commission our only line of defense against unreasonable rate increases. *See Attached |

I don't see why there should be rate increase. I am on a set income and if you all decide to raise the rates then I am gonna have to figure out how to pay my bill . I don't understand why there needs to be one in the first place. People are trying to stay cool right now in this heat. And you all are going to punish the customers for trying to stay cool. Please think about people being on disability, or that can't afford the rate increase. |

I respectfully urge the Missouri Public Service Commission to deny or substantially reduce Ameren Missouri’s request for an additional $343 million in annual electric revenues. Missouri families are already facing higher costs for groceries, housing, insurance, and utilities, and many cannot absorb another increase after recent rate hikes. While grid reliability matters, every expense should be carefully reviewed to ensure it is necessary, cost-effective, and fair to customers. Ameren, as a regulated monopoly, should not pass all costs to captive ratepayers; shareholders should bear a greater share. The Commission should prioritize affordability and approve only prudent, essential costs. |

Re:Ameren rate hike. I was hoping to read that this was being done to allow for construction of nuclear plants. I am wholehesrtedly in favor of that sort of expenditure. I do, however, understand the need to raise rates based on having to increase pay for linemen, etc. it's a bit pf a catch 22. |

I strongly oppose Ameren Missouri’s June 2026 request to hike electric rates by $343M, adding $13/month to average household bills. This follows a major hike in 2025; compounding utility costs are crushing regular families. Ameren claims it needs this to fund grid upgrades. Yet, in 2025, Ameren generated $8.8B in revenue and a massive $1.456B in pure profit—momentum that continued with $357M in net income for Q1 2026. Normal businesses must use their own cash reserves, reinvest profits, or take out financing to fund infrastructure upgrades. Captive consumers shouldn't be a monopoly's piggy bank to guarantee corporate margins. Please protect Missouri consumers and deny this rate increase. |

I want to address the new proposed Ameren rate hike. We do not need more rate hikes. We are struggling! Your rates are already higher than other areas that operate on CO-OP electricity. Don’t pass the cost on to the people already struggling, pass it on to those corporations that consume more energy than some small cities and take in millions/billions in profits. Thank you for your time. |

I was reading the NPR article about the rate increase Ameren requested with the main reason being infrastructure. I am fine with infrastructure being repaired and updated, and I am fine with paying for it. But Ameren cited specific examples such as tornado damage, which does not align with a permanent rate increase. I would be ok with a 1 year increase of 10% and then next year my rate decreasing by that amount. But a permanent rate increase does not make sense for the reasons listed in the NPR article. The last rate decrease was 2020 I think, but you probably have all the data about historic increases and decreases. We have had increases in 22', 23', and the worst being 2025. Does this increases have the be permanent? |

I researched and found that to voice my opinion about Ameren's rate increase again was to contact you. I have put it on Facebook as well so others may contact you. Another rate increase needs to be rejected, especially with gas and food prices going up. It seems that every single request is approved. We, the public, need to make our feelings known that enough is enough. NO rate increase. |

I am writing in opposition to the rate increase. Utility bills are already high enough, most cannot afford and rely on assistance to pay. We need to push back on Ameren with this issue and ensure the increase does not happen. Ozark Border Electric rates are much cheaper. If Ameren continues to try to increase rates, there needs to be a severance of all contracts with Ameren and move to use an electric company that is more affordable. |

Corporate greed is ruining us! We live on a fixed income and are already having to decide between food and electric. We have no extra money for anything at all. We don't drink, smoke, vacation, eat out or anything like that because we are TRYING to get by on our Social Security that we paid in our entire life. We don't qualify for any type of assistance because we fall into the gap of making too much money by just a hundred dollars and not making enough to get by on! Now they are wanting MORE money, while their CEO's and such are making MILLIONS OF DOLLARS salary plus MILLION-DOLLAR bonuses too? I find that sickening and VERY GREEDY! All a matter of PRIORITIES! DENY THEM or ruin family's lives! They will kill off the elderly by doing this! |

I urge that this rate hike proposal be declined. Ameren has already raised rates significantly over the past couple of years. If Ameren is hurting for money, Ameren needs to take a look at how they spend money and cut bloat out of their budget. Consumer rates should not continue to rise because they want to increase profit margins. Infrastructure upgrades should already be accounted for within budgets, and consumers pay a piece of their rate to cover that. Additionally, Ameren has said they’ve made upgrades to renewable energy, which should help offset costs. We need a new energy company in this area, as Ameren has a monopoly and is taking advantage of customers because there is no other option for the consumer. |

I am reaching out in regard to ameren wanting to increase their rates by $13 a month per customer. Missouri can not afford it. Many adults have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet anymore. Most people are on budget billing because they cant afford to pay the entire bill every month. I know because I am one of those people. My budget billing was $421 a month for a year, now it is $358. The $358 will increase in the fall because it is summer and people are using more energy to keep their home cool. $13 may not sounds like a lot, but take it from me, when you're already struggling and these companies want to keep raising their rates it is worse than a struggle, it's a fight to survive. Ameren already cost more than a lot of people can afford. Here in Missouri, we do not have an alternative source of electricity, which makes Ameren a Monopoly in our State. When will we be given the ability to choose who we use for our Electricity? I would think the public service commission would be for the public not the corporations. If we could choose like you can in Texas. They would keep their rates reasonable. They should not be granted the increase. |

Ameren employees and executives are paid extremely well, and I believe the increase is requested in order to pad their pockets even more, at the expense of their customers. I have no problem with people receiving adequate compensation for their work. Executive pay has gotten out of control in this country and needs to be trained in. Also, Ameren is a monopoly as we apparently have no choice. I bought a lot to build a house almost 30 years ago. The main selling point was it was to be serviced by Ozark Border. I'm writing to voice my strongest opposition to Ameren’s recent request to the PSC to approve a base rate increase that would cost an additional $13 dollars per month. Families are already feeling the strain from last year’s increase, and adding yet another burden is simply untenable for many households even with the energy assistance credits. Instead of shifting these rising costs onto customers, Ameren should re evaluate and renegotiate the terms it has with private investors and businesses. The rapid expansion of data centers and ongoing issues with solar energy infrastructure damaged by hail and storms, are major contributors to escalating costs. Please reject Ameren’s request. Working families cannot continue to absorb this cost. |

I oppose Ameren Missouri’s proposed rate increase. Residential customers should not be expected to pay for infrastructure built to serve future large industrial users, including data centers. Southeast Missouri has already seen hundreds of acres converted to utility-scale solar farms, yet we’re now being asked to pay even higher electric rates. I ask the Commission to require Ameren to disclose whether it has any agreements, options, or plans to acquire these solar projects and whether this rate increase is being driven by future industrial demand. Missouri families deserve transparency and a fair allocation of these costs before being asked to pay more. |

If you approve this I could be looking at another increase of over $100 making my bill to be $400-$500 I live in a 3 bd 1 bath house with myself 3 kids and my wife. Ameren wants to preach to save energy just increase your thermostat to 78 degrees I have a 10 year old 2 year old and 4 month old. We can not do that putting them at risk. I strongly oppose Ameren Missouri's proposed rate increase. Not everyone in Missouri earns six figures a year. Many families are already struggling to pay for groceries, housing, insurance, and utilities. Asking residential customers to pay even more while Ameren expands to serve large data centers is unfair. I am writing to voice opposition to yet another rate increase by Ameren Missouri. Ameren Missouri rate increases have outpaced inflation in the last few years and is estimated to be over 30% resulting from the 15% increase in 2020-2021, the 20% increase in 2022-2023, and the 11% increase in 2024-2025. When will the Public Service Commission stand up for the Missouri citizen? While I am not opposed to infrastructure improvement, but the continued rate increases in these inflationary times just pushes the burden to those who are faceless to policy makers. Local, State, and Federal government needs to step up and address the affordability crises in this country, not just pass the buck on. Do the right thing and reject this rate request. |

I am writing to express my strong opposition to any additional rate increases requested by Ameren Missouri. Missouri families, retirees, and working individuals are already facing rising costs for housing, groceries, healthcare, insurance, and everyday necessities. Another utility rate increase would place an even greater financial burden on customers who have little choice but to pay for essential electric service. Many households are struggling to keep up, and increasing utility bills yet again is simply not sustainable. (see attached PDF) |

We are senior citizen in Jefferson County and on a fixed income. Ameren just got a huge increase 13 months ago, and now they are asking for another, on average, 14 more dollars a month. Do you not realize that the cost of living is extremely high and this increase on top of the last increase is too much. 2-3 dollar increase is one thing, but 12-14 a month adds up and is too much to get by on. Ameren can get by on what they have right now. |

I oppose Ameren Missouri's proposed rate increase. I am 65 yrs old & live on a fixed income. My costs for water, sewer, trash, insurance, property taxes, groceries, & healthcare have all increased substantially. Although I participate in Ameren's Budget Billing prog, my electric is high for a single homeowner & costs continue to rise. Customers have funded multiple rounds of infrastructure improvements previously. Before approving another, the Commission should require independent, publicly available performance measures showing whether those investments improved reliability, outage restoration, customer service, & operating efficiency. Please protect Missouri families & Sr’s by requiring accountability before approving higher rates. |

I also urge the Commission to consider policies that better protect those least able to absorb repeated rate increases, including: • A discounted "lifeline" electric rate for the amount of electricity every household needs for basic living. • Expanded assistance for seniors and others living on fixed incomes whose incomes exceed current assistance thresholds but who still struggle to pay utility bills. • Additional incentives for households that consistently conserve energy instead of treating all residential customers the same. *See Attached |

In no way do I support an increase for infrastructure. We already pay for this. This was the reason for the charges. Now they need more? Ameren Missouri Customers Delivery and Base Rate components: • Customer Charge: A fixed $9.00 monthly charge ensuring grid availability and metering equipment at your residence. • Energy / Usage Charge: Unlike Illinois, Missouri builds a massive portion of its grid infrastructure costs directly into the base volumetric rate per kWh. |

I strongly oppose any increase from Ameren. I've been informed that there is a req for an increase from Ameren. My power has been out multiple x in the last 2 weeks. Only the last outage we had, on a sunny and fairly windless day, was restored in a timely manner. I do understand the storms caused outages. When I was a child, living in this area, we never lost power for so long and so frequently. My electric bill has doubled in the last few years and service has gotten worse. I have even gotten a statement for my shop/detached garage stating that a certain amount was for air conditioning. I do not have air conditioning in said building. A complaint was placed and I did receive a credit but since, our bill continuously goes up. |

My bill is $100 more than it was this time last year, Ive increased my temp inside to 76°and even had 10 days this billing cycle where my AC was off. Then with having 2 days of no electricity at all and having to throw away $300 worth of food, I find out my projected bill will be over $300! That's insane! I keep lights off that I don't need. There's absolutely no reason it should be so high just to accommodate the tourists coming to our area in the summer months. There's no reason my bill should be half my rent! This isn't livable and an increase would just make things worse. There's so many others just like me who do not agree to the increase. I hope you hear all of us citizens living with this everyday . Seems so weird. You have made hand over fist monies, and you want more. I’m totally against data centers they’re not good for Mo at all. Are you going to pay my bill for me when you’re increasing it so much it’ll put me out of house and home. You already raised it when you forced smart meters on us! This is totally unacceptable imho! Let your company pay for the expansion of electric utilities. You are robbing the resident taxpayers of their hard earned money! Plus you need to update your utility poles to many out of electric when storms hit! Ty |

I am writing the PSC to ask them to NOT allow Ameren MO to increase their rates. Our electric rates increase considerably from year to year. It seems Ameren is seeking rate increases very often. Ameren makes a HUGE profit from its rates while citizens in our area bring home less and less each year. Since I live in East Prairie, I have no choice of electric provider. Like other citizens in my town, we are trapped by whatever rate Ameren sets. This increase will be very costly for us and others in our community. It is a huge rate Increase considering other increases. Please, I implore you to NOT allow Ameren to increase their rates. To the Missouri PSC: I strongly oppose Ameren Missouri’s requested rate increase in Case No. ER-2026-0291. A $343 million hike, adding about $13/month to residential bills, is an unfair burden on families already struggling with rising costs. I urge the Commission to thoroughly scrutinize Ameren’s request, reject unnecessary cost pass-throughs, protect low-income and fixed-income customers, and hold accessible public hearings. Ratepayers should not bear the full weight of utility costs while shareholders profit. Please deny this increase as filed. |

Senior citizens of Missouri don’t have to guess IF Ameren will get a rate increase, we just wait for the WHEN! Also, they don’t need to waste their time and efforts in planning public hearings. I have attended those. No one listens to the residents – it is already a done deal. As a proud Missouri citizen and consumer, we should have the ability to message the board regarding any concerns. The MoPSC is supposed to be OUR watchdog, and not just a rubber stamp for monopolies, a.k.a., utilities. Lately, with all of the Securitization Laws, rate hikes, and bonds awarded to Ameren, you have done nothing to stop this. Ameren was awarded Billions and yet there is a "Rush Island Retirement" charge on my monthly statement, WHY? You never tried to stop the closing of the Meramec and Rush Island plants, both low cost and reliable sources of power generation. I'm expecting Spire, American Water, and the rest, to be handed customer "blank checks" as well. A response would be welcomed. Frank G. Muegge |

Re: AGAINST upcoming Ameren rate increase request of 10% by 2027. Ameren's rates over the past 5 years (since 2020) have risen more than 10% (winter 8 months) and more than 30% (summer 4 months) for an average increase in cost per kwh of ~28-30%. I'll qualify this by stating that my calculations include all fees. My electric usage has actually DECREASED by 28% (summer months) and ~17% (all months) during that same time period (due to efficiency upgrades and newer HVAC) yet my total costs continue to rise despite the efficiencies I've implemented at my single-family house. Should not Ameren's existing budget include the cost for the upgrades they need to perform? I'd presumed that prior budget requests included future upgrades. |

Consumer feels that Ameren should take into consideration changing the time frame given when scheduling tree trimming and planned power outages. Please consider changing the time to when people are less likely to need to use power. |

Please do not approve this rate increase. Missouri rate payers are having a hard time keeping up with the rate increases that have been approved last year and the year before that. Ameren I am sure is not having difficulty paying their bills like the rate payers are. |

Between Ameren and MAWC's increases, you guys are going to take my house. How can these increases be legal? They ask for increases every year and the PSC approves them. When is the last time you have denied an increase request? We can't afford this anymore. but don't have a choice in who provides our utilities. |

Hello , I am sending this in response to another rate possible increase that may be passed to us Ameren customers. I am asking on behalf of many families in our community that this increase not happen as our Electric bills are already unaffordable!!!! Many families including ours has to keep our homes uncomfortable and still cannot afford the ever increasing bill! For our small home with new doors and windows we should not have to keep our house at uncomfortable temps to hopefully afford the next bill! With our past co op we very rarely lost power, our bill was affordable even much less and our house was twice the size. Since having Ameren we have lost power numerous times and sometimes for long periods loosing expensive *See attached |
