Does this commission EVER say No to these utilities, especially Ameren, who is gobbling up smaller providers, and who collected nearly $1.5 billion, a portion to raze the Rush Island facility, and yet on my Ameren statement I am paying an ADDITIONAL fee to "retire" the Rush Island plant. "Coming Soon" to a mailbox near you, approved increases from Spire, MSD, Missouri American Water, and on and on. You are supposed to be the consumer watchdog but you have failed miserably. Below is a copy of a letter I sent to Missouri Senators without a response. A response from you would be greatly appreciated. *See attached |

"Who is the demonic entity that’s deciding to raise our rates??? You make more than enough money to cover the cost of the upgrades YOU approved. Missourians didn’t approve anything. Why don’t all of the top douche bags at ameren take a fucking pay cut to spare the rest of from these bi-monthly rate increases. I’ve worked at plenty of ameren properties. Nothing meaningful has been upgraded that should result in any kind of increase. Better yet, why aren’t the data center companies paying for their own bullshit. We’re so fucking sick and tired of this horse shit electric company. " |

I am writing to strongly oppose Ameren Missouri’s request to increase electric base rates by $343 million. The Missouri Public Service Commission was created to protect the public interest, not simply to approve utility rate increases. Because Ameren operates as a regulated monopoly across much of Missouri, customers have no meaningful choice in who provides their electricity. We cannot shop for a better price or take our business elsewhere. That makes the Commission our only line of defense against unreasonable rate increases. *See Attached |

How about no on the Ameren rate hikes? It seems like it is every year they come begging for rate hikes to fund this or fund that and all the while Missourians are suffering. |

I don't see why there should be rate increase. I am on a set income and if you all decide to raise the rates then I am gonna have to figure out how to pay my bill . I don't understand why there needs to be one in the first place. People are trying to stay cool right now in this heat. And you all are going to punish the customers for trying to stay cool. Please think about people being on disability, or that can't afford the rate increase. |

I respectfully urge the Missouri Public Service Commission to deny or substantially reduce Ameren Missouri’s request for an additional $343 million in annual electric revenues. Missouri families are already facing higher costs for groceries, housing, insurance, and utilities, and many cannot absorb another increase after recent rate hikes. While grid reliability matters, every expense should be carefully reviewed to ensure it is necessary, cost-effective, and fair to customers. Ameren, as a regulated monopoly, should not pass all costs to captive ratepayers; shareholders should bear a greater share. The Commission should prioritize affordability and approve only prudent, essential costs. |

Re:Ameren rate hike. I was hoping to read that this was being done to allow for construction of nuclear plants. I am wholehesrtedly in favor of that sort of expenditure. I do, however, understand the need to raise rates based on having to increase pay for linemen, etc. it's a bit pf a catch 22. |

Just kick people while they’re down, keep them in debt, and let them enjoy payment plans for the rest of their days? For “250 years”, this country and the states sure have piggybacked enough on hardworking people who deserve a break. |

There have been 2 data centers approved for development in montgomery county. There are at least 4 more being proposed around st louis, can it be proven this increase is not related to infrastructure needs of data centers? The people of missouri should not be funding data centers utility needs. |

I strongly oppose Ameren Missouri’s June 2026 request to hike electric rates by $343M, adding $13/month to average household bills. This follows a major hike in 2025; compounding utility costs are crushing regular families. Ameren claims it needs this to fund grid upgrades. Yet, in 2025, Ameren generated $8.8B in revenue and a massive $1.456B in pure profit—momentum that continued with $357M in net income for Q1 2026. Normal businesses must use their own cash reserves, reinvest profits, or take out financing to fund infrastructure upgrades. Captive consumers shouldn't be a monopoly's piggy bank to guarantee corporate margins. Please protect Missouri consumers and deny this rate increase. |

I am opposed to the rate hikes that you are proposing for next year for "infrastructure upgrades and strengthening". Isnt it possible to request the money from the companies putting in data centers all over the state? After all, that is what all of these hikes are for. |

I want to address the new proposed Ameren rate hike. We do not need more rate hikes. We are struggling! Your rates are already higher than other areas that operate on CO-OP electricity. Don’t pass the cost on to the people already struggling, pass it on to those corporations that consume more energy than some small cities and take in millions/billions in profits. Thank you for your time. |

Ameren has requested a rate increase. We already pay an outrageous amount in utilities, and most are already struggling. Single income homes are barely making it as it currently is. Please dont make it harder. |

It is quite disappointing to see another request hike for the American family…having to pay for the rush island retirement plant but needing additional funds for data center implementation on our backs is too much.. why else do they need it..families cannot pay their bills now.. please don’t allow this |

I was reading the NPR article about the rate increase Ameren requested with the main reason being infrastructure. I am fine with infrastructure being repaired and updated, and I am fine with paying for it. But Ameren cited specific examples such as tornado damage, which does not align with a permanent rate increase. I would be ok with a 1 year increase of 10% and then next year my rate decreasing by that amount. But a permanent rate increase does not make sense for the reasons listed in the NPR article. The last rate decrease was 2020 I think, but you probably have all the data about historic increases and decreases. We have had increases in 22', 23', and the worst being 2025. Does this increases have the be permanent? |

I researched and found that to voice my opinion about Ameren's rate increase again was to contact you. I have put it on Facebook as well so others may contact you. Another rate increase needs to be rejected, especially with gas and food prices going up. It seems that every single request is approved. We, the public, need to make our feelings known that enough is enough. NO rate increase. |

The suggested monthly increase of $13 a month is not a viable one for fixed income residents. The additional $156 annual increase will burden this sector of citizens and it comes after the revelation of the increases Ameren management recently received. |

The proposed rate hike of $13 a month is not a sustainable amount for those on a fixed income. With the current price increases of everyday products the added cost would create a hugh burden for us. |

I am writing in opposition to the rate increase. Utility bills are already high enough, most cannot afford and rely on assistance to pay. We need to push back on Ameren with this issue and ensure the increase does not happen. Ozark Border Electric rates are much cheaper. If Ameren continues to try to increase rates, there needs to be a severance of all contracts with Ameren and move to use an electric company that is more affordable. |

Corporate greed is ruining us! We live on a fixed income and are already having to decide between food and electric. We have no extra money for anything at all. We don't drink, smoke, vacation, eat out or anything like that because we are TRYING to get by on our Social Security that we paid in our entire life. We don't qualify for any type of assistance because we fall into the gap of making too much money by just a hundred dollars and not making enough to get by on! Now they are wanting MORE money, while their CEO's and such are making MILLIONS OF DOLLARS salary plus MILLION-DOLLAR bonuses too? I find that sickening and VERY GREEDY! All a matter of PRIORITIES! DENY THEM or ruin family's lives! They will kill off the elderly by doing this! |

I urge that this rate hike proposal be declined. Ameren has already raised rates significantly over the past couple of years. If Ameren is hurting for money, Ameren needs to take a look at how they spend money and cut bloat out of their budget. Consumer rates should not continue to rise because they want to increase profit margins. Infrastructure upgrades should already be accounted for within budgets, and consumers pay a piece of their rate to cover that. Additionally, Ameren has said they’ve made upgrades to renewable energy, which should help offset costs. We need a new energy company in this area, as Ameren has a monopoly and is taking advantage of customers because there is no other option for the consumer. |

I am reaching out in regard to ameren wanting to increase their rates by $13 a month per customer. Missouri can not afford it. Many adults have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet anymore. Most people are on budget billing because they cant afford to pay the entire bill every month. I know because I am one of those people. My budget billing was $421 a month for a year, now it is $358. The $358 will increase in the fall because it is summer and people are using more energy to keep their home cool. $13 may not sounds like a lot, but take it from me, when you're already struggling and these companies want to keep raising their rates it is worse than a struggle, it's a fight to survive. We all see the process of everything *See Attached |

My bill just shot up 23%. The CEO's pay for 2025 was $14.06m and approved by the shareholders. The stock just traded at an all-time high of 118.32. Your screwing the public to compensate the officers and shareholders. Why isn't their compensation going through the PSC since this BS board just rubber stamps any of their rate increase requests. Seems like a conflict of interest. Bo |

Ameren already cost more than a lot of people can afford. Here in Missouri, we do not have an alternative source of electricity, which makes Ameren a Monopoly in our State. When will we be given the ability to choose who we use for our Electricity? I would think the public service commission would be for the public not the corporations. If we could choose like you can in Texas. They would keep their rates reasonable. They should not be granted the increase. |
