As you are no doubt aware as regulators, Metropolitan Sewer District complex structure for rates are tied directly to American Water costs/usages on a ‘per unit’ basis. MSD “reviews” rate structures every July for the August billing period and beyond. I have just received a 27% in crease in my August MSD billing. As regulators of utilities in the State of Missouri, you are uniquely positioned to monitor the needs and effects of rate increases on each and every “user” in the state. As a retired constituent on a fixed income in these times of out-of-control, rapidly rising costs across the board, this increase is way beyond my current budgetary ability to accommodate such increases without serious consequence. *See Attached |
