We need to vastly accelerate our transition from fossil fuels to renewables and energy efficiency. Climate mayhem is hitting us daily: heat waves in Misouri, Europe and South Asia, melting glaciers in Nepal, the first-ever tornado watch in Hawaii. More fossil fuel emissions will unleash much more damage than we are experiencing even now. Investments in an obsolete technology like natural gas will lock us into emissions for decades. Instead, Evergy should make a plan with the City of Kansas City to build a solar array at the KC airport, a great idea that lost momentum when Trump killed tax credits. We need to focus on finding money elsewhere.

This, I think, is moving in the wrong direction. Climate mayhem is here, caused in large part by our continued burning of fossil fuels and our refusal to acknowledge the disastrous effects it causes. Please reject this case to protect Buchanan Cty residents and Missouri ratepayers from the costs and consequences.

This doesn't benefit us farmers at all, and it will most certainly disturb the peace and quiet out here. I'm concerned about the environmental damage and property values, the increase in traffic and potential for rerouting those of us that need to go by the area just to get to work. Please, find a suitable space within Saint Joseph city limits to build; don't destroy perfectly good farm ground.

This is a huge area for farm land and this could contaminate the soil and areas where there is livestock. This will also cause a loss of wildlife due pollution in the air and water. Consider the surroundings, and place this in a suitable location within city limits, away from people’s homes and wildlife.

I moved to the Frazier area to get away from all of the noise, congestion and pollution of the cities. The installation of the Turbine would be just beginning of all that I am trying to avoid coming back into my life. Please do not approve this. Many in this town do not want all that comes with it. I am sure you have heard all this and more from others, but I did want to make sure mine (and my wife's) opinion on this was heard.

First, the local Public Water Supply District (PWSD) will not be able to provide enough water to adequately support the facility. It is about 3 miles from our home. And 5 miles from the East Buchanan school district. WE DONT WANT IT!!!!! It will lower the value of our homes, hurt the farmland, ruin the beauty of the land. As a resident living 4.1 miles proposed site in the Frazier community, I am deeply concerned about the direct, negative impacts this massive industrial development will have on our local neighborhood. Placing this heavy industrial power plant in our community will negatively affect property values. I worry about the noise pollution created by the turbines which create a low-frequency hum. I worry about the air quality and health impacts due to release of nitrogen oxides and fine particulate matter.

No. 2, many data centers have been canceled or put on hold in many cities and counties have moratoriums in place and companies are withdrawing plans to build data centers so new power plant isn’t even needed. The PSC should deny the request. Also it will impact the community in negative ways, and I’m 100 percent against this.

She expressed that once bills go up, they never go back down, and noted that many data centers have been cancelled or placed under moratoriums. She hopes a moratorium will be considered for this project before any rate increase is decided.

The community found out about the site, plans, and construction on September 11 with the final hearing on September 17. Concerns include an early learning center, traffic, air/land pollution.There were 25 other sites as options under consideration and the Johnson 1 site was added after the initial work had been done. The Sparta site was noted as the first choice. Evergy did not follow procedures and work through zoning but jumped to the state, intentionally ignoring community input as the site would not have been approved. Don't allow Evergy to make communities pay for services that only Evergy benefits from and that the community didn't want

P202700643	9/15/2026 10:56 AM	Evergy Missouri Metro and Evergy Missouri West are wanting to put a natural gas plant in Frazier, Mo. I want to put in a note that my household opposes this! Our children's health is at stake, because of this. The Joy of Learning Farm School, which 2 of our children attend roughly 2 miles away, will be GREATLY affected by the pollution that this plant would produce. Along with our public school that is within the potential risk radius, this also does not follow the Buchanan County planning/zoning mission statement: "To ensure the most appropriate use of land through planning and zoning while preserving natural, agricultural, historic and scenic resources."

Public health, air quality, water resources, infrastructure and the potential loss of property value for nearby landowners must be fully evaluated. Evergy West has already received an increase of almost 7% in 2025 (at least $8.00 per home) AND on September 1, 2026, Evergy received a fuel adjustment charge of over $4.00 a month added on to my already outrageous bill. Meanwhile, I am still paying for the storm of 2021 on my current bill. NO. MORE!!

Section 386.250 RSMo extends PSC jurisdiction to the manufacture, sale or distribution of electricity within this state. The Missouri Supreme Court has also stated that a utility with generating plants in Missouri cannot avoid regulation merely by arranging for all sales to occur elsewhere. Evergy should not be allowed to move Unit 1 forward without Missouri review simply by assigning its ownership and costs to Kansas. I ask the Commission to stop Unit 1 until it receives a full jurisdictional review and the same Missouri approval required for Unit 2.
