P202300017 | 7/15/2022 1:45 PM | I do not think Evergy should be allowed to raise their rates when electricity costs are already at an all-time high. They provide a public utility and so their main focus should be on servicing the public, not earning profits. This is yet another example of price gouging disguised as inflation, and I don't think Evergy should be rewarded for taking advantage. No to rate increases! |
P202300019 | 7/15/2022 2:14 PM | Evergy Missouri West are bloodsuckers and shouldn't pass even more of their expenses to the consumers. Evergy makes a bad financial decision with a Texas-based company so they want to bail themselves out as well as turn a profit by placing additional fees on every customer. Evergy's failure to construct/provide more green sources of energy like solar and wind are completely it's own fault. Times are hard enough without utility companies putting more pressure on the people they provide for. |
P202300027 | 7/15/2022 3:52 PM | The cause of Evergy West incurring higher energy costs on their end is due to their own dereliction and poor planning regarding energy capacity. The merger of KCP&L and Westar was to provide benefits and savings as a combined company. Making customer in a monopoly pay for the company's mistakes is unconscionable. |
P202300030 | 7/15/2022 3:55 PM | You promised lower rates, credits, and savings when you took over KCPL. I just had my highest bill to date with some of the lowest usage in warmer months AND you are requesting a rate increase to make up for the disaster that was Feb 2021. Please explain. This is unacceptable and at this point should be considered theft. |
P202300036 | 7/15/2022 4:08 PM | Power- something that is a necessity to maintain the average American standard of living just as much as running water is- already costs quite a lot, even for a single-person household like myself. Raising costs of power production to the individual is equivalent to saying that the American standard of living is too high, and everyone who is unable to sacrifice less necessary things should go back to living in the 1700's with candles (aka fire hazards). |
P202300045 | 7/15/2022 6:33 PM | It is criminal to raise charges for electricity consumers in part to increase net profits of a private company, particularly during 100F weather for people already burdened by this degree of inflation. |
P202300047 | 7/15/2022 6:45 PM | Allowing Evergy to increase consumer rates to raise a 5% company profit is a predatory tactic in addition to being politically tone deaf in this literal climate and inflation crisis. |
