P202100672 | 5/18/2021 5:19 PM | I feel like you are asking too much of an increase all at once. A 79%increase will put everyone in the subdivision that is on a fixed income in a hardship. Those at only have 1 or 2 person household will be charged the same as those with a larger family. This doesn't seem fair as they do not use as much water as a family of 3 or larger. The subdivision also has an awful order coming from he lagoons at times. The aireaters are not working and we are unable to sit outside during this time. |
P202100676 | 5/21/2021 3:37 PM | A 79% price increase is completely unwarranted. Many family's cannot afford this much of a price increase at one time; some are not working due to the COVID virus. If Mid-MO Sanitation kept the sewer up to code in a timely manner since 2009, this would not be this extreme. I can understand a 10% or 15% increase but not 79%. |
P202100677 | 5/21/2021 4:30 PM | We would like to see documentation on what is needed in a plan to keep the Mid MO Sanitation, LLC system in compliance and how current rates are not covering what is being done. While we understand that rates may need to increase, a 79% rate at one time for people who live in this subdivision needs to be explained thoroughly. In addition, how the proposed county sewer district would impact this system. |
P202100773 | 6/1/2021 11:20 AM | My husband Stan and I would like to know how much Mr. Bright has spent upgrading the sewer systems in Lake Breeze to meet not only DNR's requirements but the commercial customers in the area (land, equipment, testing, etc.) How much are the commercial customers paying? New businesses have been added, including a car wash & soon there will be a laundry mat. The lagoon in Lake Breeze smells so something needs to be done to address this problem. Callaway County plans for upgrades for Millersburg? |
P202100814 | 6/2/2021 12:40 PM | (comment 1 of 3) I would like more transparency on why there is a request for a large sewer rate increase (of 79% or $50.93 per month). Without more transparency, I do not agree with the rate increase. It is beyond any increase that would be expected with cost of living or inflation. I have several questions that I would like answered to help with transparency. Question 1 of 8: 1) Are there any public documents available that show what upgrades were made and/or the related costs? |
P202100815 | 6/2/2021 12:41 PM | (comment 2 of 3) Sewer rate increase questions continued. Questions 2-5 of 8: 2) Are there any public documents available that show the daily operating costs before and after the upgrades were made? 3) Why were the given upgrades chosen? 4) What were the alternative upgrades and their potential costs? 5) Were alternative billing options to a fixed amount considered? Such as billing based on water usage. |
P202100816 | 6/2/2021 12:42 PM | (comment 3 of 3) Sewer rate increase questions continued. Questions 6-8 of 8: 6) Are there comparable sized companies and services that we could use to compare services, service designs, and/or operating costs/procedures? 7) For consumers of the service, what alternatives do we have to using this system or what ways can we help keep the costs down? 8) Was the removal of the lagoon aerators and potential reduction of associated operating costs factored into the requested rate increase? |
P202100818 | 6/2/2021 12:45 PM | I would like to add a comment on the smell coming from the lagoons. The smell can be unbearable at times. About two or three years ago, the aerators were removed from the lagoons. Since then, the smell has increased. This is my first formal written complaint about the smell, but the owner has previously been notified of the smell multiple times over the last two or three years. I am not aware of actions that have been taken. |
