Our minimum monthly charge is already $53.78 per month. This is our second home. Our usage last month was only 40 gallons! We have several full time elderly widow/widower residents. Raising the price of water and sewer to this extent would unduly tax their ability to afford basic needs.

I am already paying $53 per month for both of these for a small 1,000 square ft 2 bedrom condo. And we are only there 5 months of the year. In our regular home in the STL area, our home is over 3 times that size and our bill last month from Missouri American Water was only $22. PLEASE put a STOP to this.

For example, the water rate will increase by 45.8%. This amounts to a minimum annual increase of $433.21 just for the base service. For sewer the proposed rate it is an annual increase of $661.32. Such a large increase for a public service seems to be price gouging. It seems an unreasonable profit will be made at the customers expense.

The current minimum water rate in Camdenton, MO is 21.85 per month; Osage Beach $25.32/month and Lebanon is proposed to increase to $16.19 per month.

Our unit 159-1D, the 2022-year water and sewer expense were $749.68 with water at $401.44 and sewer $348.24 respectfully. The water and sewer total expense would be $1,594.85 with water at $585.30 and sewer $1,009.55 respectfully. This rate shock would adversely affect over 211 customers at this condo complex many of whom could not afford an increase of this exorbitant amount.

At those hearings, CRUOC made it aware to the governing body that they would not raise rates as they have done at other places. Now they have filed WR-2023-0006 and SR-2023-0007 to raise rates for an amount of $3,148,864 annual revenues. That is an increase of 45.8% for water and 189.9% for sewer. I am against these requests.

I was concerned about UOUC's track record of purchasing other utility systems, then raising rates. Unfortunately, this plea fell on deaf ears. 3 years later, we are facing a proposed water rate increase of 45.8%, and a 189.9% increase for sewer services. No other competing alternative is available to us- a seemingly unfair advantage to the company to change prices at will.

I heard that Confluence Rive only recently bought this system. This is an affluent only system, we still have septic tanks that we maintain and only the affluent is discharged into the sewer system, no solids. As stated $29,000,000 of investments were made for improvements but what amount of that has been made toward my service. We get our water from district 5 separate from Confluence rivers and this is unaffected by our sewer service. No improvements made.

We paid over $7,000 at the time for the hookup and equipment installed in an existing septic tank. The monthly fee was approximately $30, then $44.81, which included equipment maintenance and an annual checkup. Elm Hills, then Confluence Rivers provide no onsite customer maintenance. The fee should not be increased more than the rate of inflation, if that.

The proposed flat sewer rate increase to $83 per customer is troubling. I have a septic tank. I paid for the new required pump before CRA took over, $3500. I pay to have the solid waste removed from my tank. I pay the electric to have JUST the gray water pumped to Confluence. For this they want $83.00 a month?

We ( homeowners in the subdivision) were told that the $44.81 monthly charge was high to cover the cost of changing the lagoon into a sewer system that was within State regulations. We were also told that our monthly cost would go down once the construction costs were covered. I vehemently oppose doubling our monthly sewer bill. I do not see that it is warranted. Thank you.

As a lot owner at Lake Perry (Port Perry) we feel this proposed rate increase in an attempt to recoup monies from past improvements to be outrageous and unfair. Confluence Rivers did not prove their case for these increases. We understand a rate increase is inevitable but please consider denying this request for the amount Confluence Rivers is proposing. They are proposing a 151.4% increase in water usage and a sewer increase of 74.5%. Being on Social Security over the past 10 years it has increased 28% and my Medicare Insurance increased 90%. Their proposed increases are out of line and need to be lowered substantially.

However, they have invested very little in the sewer system since they acquired it in November 2022 for the cost of $1. At the time of acquisition the system was meeting all Missouri DNR standards. Other than routine operations and maintenance the company has done very little with this sewer system. I ask the Public Service Commission to deny this proposed monthly rate increase.

In a hearing before the PSC in 2020 he vied with the lot owners for purchase of the utility and won with his team of lawyers and his Jeff City connections. Now he proposes an inequitable increase in charges based on minor repairs but including the premium purchase price he paid for our company. The maneuvers here are unfair and smell of “monopoly.”

My water bill has gone from just over $20.00 a month to over $60.00 and I am paying for this level of service?

It's a big improvement. I can't imagine the PSC allowing that much of an increase. Some increase is understandable but not 200-300%. We shouldn't have to pay for other communities if that is the reason behind that high of an increase.

My concern is the super high cost of water and sewer here in WET Missouri. When I ask Confluence Rivers about it their condensed answer is we can charge whatever we want as it is approved by some unnamed board of supervisors. (see attached pdf)
