This increase will make our water payments near the same amount that the people of California pay. The people of Bolivar barely are making ends meet due to the astronomical prices of rent and utilities ( by liberty). This will greatly impact many people in town to where they can not afford to pay this or live here |

Their takeover of water and sewer services from the City of Bolivar was full of bad decisions and mistakes. I received bills from Liberty after 1 year of water/sewer service with them, showing I had used multiple millions of gallons of sewer per month. It took over three months to resolve. The excuse I was given was their billing and meters were not compatible and were reading my residence incorrectly. I still have documentation regarding these bills. I have been unable to use their online services to check water/sewer usage or pay my bill since they took over water/sewer services. Meters are rarely read and usage is commonly estimated, resulting in inaccurate billing. |

P202400417 | 3/31/2024 8:48 PM | I am contesting the request made by Liberty to increase the Sewer (Wastewater) rates for the City of Bolivar, Missouri for 2.2%. While I do agree that they probably DO need to make an adjustment to aid in the repairs needed to the wastewater treatment plant that they acquired from the City of Bolivar, I feel as though it should be a smaller % to start with (Maybe .75 - 1% this year) and work up slightly from there. Our city has numerous low income / fixed income citizens, and this increase would put an undue stress on their abililty to maintain their homes. |
P202400420 | 4/1/2024 7:21 AM | Please accept this email as my protest to the proposed rate increase by Liberty Utilities. I believe it to be too drastic of increase for the people of Bolívar. Many are retired on a fixed income, young students on a limited income as well as young families living from check to check. I think more Bolivar public comment is warranted. The information shared on 2020 by Tracy Salgle (former Bolívar City Administrator), now an employee of Liberty Utilities and the current rate increase request is a quite different. |

It would be an unfair, unjust and price googing hardship to charge a minimum of 5000 gals, when we don't use it. We are disabled seniors in low income housing and no increase is valid for this company. Liberty is a large Canadian company that has plenty of investment money without my stipend. |

Their customer service is not excellent. The company is inherently flawed. They should work on updating their systems before asking for more money. His most recent charge totaled $64.00, which included $42.00 for sewer and $15.00 for gas delivery. Right present, everything is becoming increasingly expensive due to inflation. This is extremely poor judgement on their part. |
