| P202400688 | 4/11/2024 8:09 AM | While some rate increases are necessary to cover legitimate expenses, I find it hard to stomach Ameren's sponsoring sports teams and other non-utility entities with money collected from customers. Unless Ameren Missouri/Illinois can prove that they are paying out of a pot of money that doesn't come from customers, then they should have to cease and desist those expenses, and any other similar ones. As a retiree on fixed income, I can't afford to support these activities, no matter the cause. I can't deduct things like that on my taxes, and don't support any corporate round campaigns where they, the corporate entity, gets a tax deduction for a charitable cause. I donate my money as I see fit, not as someone else does. |
