I oppose the plans for the solar farm. I do not want to see any industrial or otherwise, development on public lands without it going to a vote with the people. This will be a detriment to wildlife and recreational and natural resources for where it is planned. I wouldn't want to see any damage to any lands that we pay for. |

Electricity from solar is less expensive, https://pv-magazine-usa.com/2025/07/01/solar-cost-of-electricity-beats-lowest-cost-fossil-fuel-even-without-tax-credits/, and better for the environment than from natural gas and coal. Ameren owns the land where the facility will be built so please authorize it. |

We are currently dealing with high prices and with also data centers. Please find some way where customers don't have to continue to see price hikes every year. I fill this is very unfair. |

Being present at the Q&A session with the Ameren engineer, I'm convinced that the construction of a solar energy facility on land that is already owned and administered by Ameren is a good idea for the public and should be approved. Solar power is cleaner and safer than coal/gas fired power generation facilities, significantly safer than nuclear power (especially considering the radioactive waste products), cheaper and more quickly constructed than hydroelectric facilities, and does not carry the political opposition that wind power does. Diversifying the grid with the addition of solar power generation also ensures that if one part of the system fails or becomes problematic, others can still function. I urge you to approve this project. |

I am strongly in favor of Ameren's Reform Renewable Energy Center. It will produce energy equivalent to about 1/5 of a nuclear power plant. The energy will be produced in a way that does not put more carbon dioxide into the air. It will be safe on land, which Ameren already owns. The facility can be up and running in about 2 years, which is very quick. And if it turns out there are problems, the entire facility can be dismantled quickly and easily. I see a lot of positive things about this project. |

I am in favor of Ameren being allowed to place a solar installation on their property near the Reform nuclear facility for purposes of generating electricity. The land is owned by Ameren. There will be no land taken from agricultural use. The electricity produced is enough for 44,000 households. The solar installation will not produce greenhouse gases which contribute to climate change. There is no issue for management and storage of hazardous nuclear waste with solar power. Adding new electric generating capability with solar is much cheaper and is quicker to market than the cost of building new natural gas or nuclear power plants. It will cost less for consumers. Battery storage should be added eventually to increase reliability. |

I am in strong support of a certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) for the Union Electric Company d/b/a Ameren Missouri to construct a solar generating facility at the Callaway Energy Center in Callaway County, Missouri. Ameren’s embracing of renewable resources is long overdue, and an approval of this CCN sets the company on track to pursue future renewable projects and set an example for the region. |

As a citizen of Missouri and a rate payer with the Ameren Missouri Electric company, I am highly in favor of the proposed solar generating facility. As a member of the Sierra Club and solar advocate since the 1980s, the multiple economic, environmental, and social benefits of incorporating solar electric energy into the grid are well documented and well understood. As a practicing architect for the past 48 years, I have incorporated solar systems into buildings and communities that have seen very positive results. As the owner of a 9.8 kW residential array, I have personally experienced the cost savings, the low maintenance, and the reliability of these systems. Ameren is commended for this project and the PSC should readily approve it. |

My name is Kellsy Macdonald, I am in St Louis zip code 63116, and I am testifying in support for the Callaway Solar Project. I solemnly swear that the following messages are the truth. I have been remodeling my 80 year old home and it is very interesting to see how many more outlets I need in one household due to the digitization of the modern world. With this increased load on an individual level, I understand we have to produce more power. I am very excited to see Ameren pursuing renewable energy to fill this need to diversify our energy portfolio, reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, and protect bill payers from ever-increasing fossil fuel costs over the lifespan of the project. *See attached for full comment |

I concur with various endorsements presented during the Jan. 8 Virtual Comment session regarding the Ameren Missouri proposal for expanding their solar power generation capacity onsite at the Calloway Solar Field. Many other comments allude to the wishes that these efforts had more traction much earlier in the history of Ameren power provisions. As a resident of Saint Louis City, I was able to take advantage of opportunities to place solar panels on my own roof surface, the energy from which goes into the Ameren grid. I thank Ameren for finally taking these steps to increase their capacity; for making these forward steps despite the Trump Administration efforts to reverse our renewable energy generation progress. I support! |

Hello. I just testified at the video meeting for this project. I am very much in favor of this project as it will greatly impact (and improve) the health and well-being of all Missourians. Please approve this project and urge Ameren to bring more non-polluting energy sources online and retire the coal and natural gas plants that are harming all Missourians. |

Ameren says that "the new facility is needed to meet expected demand from large-load customers, like data centers", yet the public has been denied the capacity and location of the data centers in question. Why is their info redacted from official reports? To review these proposals, full transparency is necessary. Who will data centers benefit - local communities or energy & tech corporations? How will our precious water and land be diverted to build and cool them, as some require 1 to 5 MILLIONS of gallons of water daiIy? I urge the Commission to obtain answers to these questions before approving Ameren's proposal. The residents of the county & state deserve safe, affordable, clean energy AND deserve control over precious natural resources. |

As an electrical engineer who testified at today's public hearing, I reviewed Ameren Missouri's plans. Post-closure of Meramec (2022) and Rush Island (2024) coal plants, with more planned, the grid risks reliability issues. MISO has the lowest reserve margins per Energy Secretary Chris Wright. Key issue: renewable intermittency—low output during heat/cold domes or evening peaks. Batteries insufficient for multi-day events; must rely on dispatchable sources. Aggressive renewables double costs (backups + renewables) and premature retirements add expenses. Urge limiting solar/wind until week-long affordable storage or fusion available, or we sell to data centers only excess, prioritizing resilience against blackouts and rate hikes. |
